Classes are held at our private, secure field in Kelbrook. Sessions take place in the outdoors, when the weather permits, or in the training barn.
There are Puppy Socialisation and Life Skills Classes
for those puppies who are under twenty weeks old and Foundation Skills Classes
for older dogs. We also offer Recall Workshops
for those dogs who need to learn more focus when outdoors.
Class sizes are kept small, usually no more than six dogs, and they are always run by Lynn who is an APDT accredited trainer, assisted by Paul and Oliver. Although there are usually no more than 6 dogs, there may be many more people as we love it when the whole family get involved in their dogs training.
You will receive a Welcome Pack on your first night which contains your most important training tool - a clicker! Don't worry if you have never used one before, Lynn will talk you through it every step of the way.
The main aim of our Puppy Socialisation Course is to develop confident, happy pups!
We like them to start as young as possible so that they are still in the critical socialisation period and can take full advantage of the new experiences that we offer. It is also important though that they have had their second vaccinations, so ensure that you reserve a place as soon as you get your puppy so that you get the timing right.
Our six week course introduces you to positive reinforcement training and using a clicker. To find out more take a look at our Puppy Training page
This course is suitable for young dogs or adult dogs that have recently been re-homed or older dogs that have never received any training.
This six week course will help you build a strong relationship with your dog so that you begin to better understand each other. There is a strong emphasis on learning through play whilst teaching your dog to have self-control and listen to you!
Your dog will learn how to sit, lay down and stand when you ask. The classes also cover how to walk nicely on lead, come back when called and stay in one place. For their safety we also teach a "drop" and "Leave" cue.
If your dog is very nervous and/or barky around strangers or other dogs then a class may not be the best place for them. Have a look at our One to One Training page
This workshop is held over two sessions and is held on our private and secure field; the perfect place to teach your dog a Reliable Recall!
One of the greatest pleasures for any dog is to spend time exploring their environment without the restriction of a short lead, we can help you achieve this in just three weeks. You will teach your dog that staying close to you is so much fun that they won't feel the need to run off and not return.
Most importantly you will also teach a Reliable Recall for those emergency situations where you must get your dog back to you in a hurry.
If your dog is not happy being around other dogs then this course may not be for you; have a look at our page on One to One Training
